In a highly anticipated announcement, Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba has confirmed the release date for the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination results. The results will now be released on January 13, 2025, marking a significant moment for more than 960,000 candidates who sat for the exams between October 22 and November 22, 2024.
CS Ogamba noted that the marking process is nearing completion, with teachers working around the clock to ensure accuracy and fairness. He emphasized that strict quality control measures have been implemented to uphold the integrity of the results. Speaking during a press briefing at the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) headquarters in Nairobi, Ogamba assured parents, students, and stakeholders of a seamless and timely result release.

“This year’s KCSE marking exercise has been thorough and transparent. We remain committed to ensuring students receive their results promptly and fairly,” he stated.
Traditionally, KCSE results are released in late December or early January. However, the extended marking period this year was attributed to the high number of candidates and new assessment methods under the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) framework.
Ogamba urged candidates to remain patient as the final verification processes are completed. He also encouraged students to view their results as a stepping stone to diverse career and academic opportunities, highlighting government initiatives to expand vocational training and university placements.
Upon release, students will access their results via SMS and online platforms. Schools will also receive physical copies of the results shortly after the announcement.
