Teachers in Kenya are set to benefit from significant salary and allowance increases starting January 2025 under the Teachers Service Commission’s (TSC) Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). This announcement marks a major milestone in improving teachers’ welfare and rewarding their dedication to shaping the nation’s future.

Revised Salaries for C2, C3, and C4 Teachers
Under the new structure, teachers in Grade C2 will see their monthly pay rise to between Ksh34,955 and Ksh43,694, providing a boost for entry-level teachers. Grade C3 teachers, including Senior Teacher I and graduate teachers in secondary schools, will now earn between Ksh43,154 and Ksh55,945 per month. Senior educators in Grade C4, such as Deputy Principals and Senior Masters, will take home between Ksh52,308 and Ksh65,385.
Enhanced Allowances Â
The January 2025 CBA also introduces improved allowances to support teachers’ living standards. Housing allowances have been adjusted to reflect regional costs, with teachers in Nairobi receiving up to Ksh16,500and those in rural areas earning at least Ksh4,500. Commuter allowances will now range from Ksh5,000 to Ksh8,000, while annual leave allowances have been standardized at ksh6,000 across all grades.
