New TSC Scoresheet For December Promotions . What You Need To Know. TSC Sets Dates and Reveals New Scoresheet for Teacher Promotion Interviews.
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has officially announced a five-day schedule for promotion interviews targeting senior teachers, senior masters, deputy headteachers, and principals. This follows the closure of applications for 5,690 promotion slots on November 18th at midnight.

The interviews are set to begin on Monday, November 25th, 2024, and will run through Friday, November 29th, 2024. Eligible candidates who have been shortlisted will compete for the coveted positions. These roles include principal, deputy principal, headteacher, and deputy headteacher positions.
In addition to the current promotion exercise, TSC plans to advertise more promotion slots in December for non-administrative positions, popularly known as classroom teachers. Speaking during the supervision of the 2024 KCSE exams, TSC CEO Dr. Nancy Macharia confirmed that the Commission has been allocated Ksh. 1 billion in the current financial year to facilitate teacher promotions.

Dr. Macharia hinted at extensive promotion opportunities before the year ends, ensuring career growth for both administrators and classroom teachers.
TSC Promotion Scoresheet Breakdown
The Commission has also released the official scoresheet that will guide the promotion interviews. Candidates will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
– Acting Experience: 5+ years (30 marks), 3–4 years (25 marks), and less than 1 year (10 marks).
– Time in Current Grade: 6+ years (20 marks), 4–5 years (15 marks), and less than 3 years (10 marks).
– TPAD Ratings: 81%+ (10 marks) and 61–80% (8 marks).
–Â Age: 55+ years (15 marks), with younger candidates receiving fewer points.
– Other Factors: Co-curricular achievements (up to 5 marks), KCPE/KCSE performance (6 marks), and oral communication skills (1 mark).
