The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced the retooling of Junior Secondary School (JSS) teachers, scheduled to take place at the sub-county level from 2nd to 5th December 2024. This critical training aims to equip educators with the necessary skills to deliver the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) and implement Competency-Based Assessments (CBA) effectively.

The training will follow a smart cascade model, starting with the preparation of master trainers, who will then guide the JSS teachers in their respective sub-counties. This initiative aligns with TSC’s commitment to enhancing teacher competencies for improved learning outcomes.
Document Verification and Training Requirements
Before the training begins, all applicants must undergo a document verification exercise, which runs from 7th to 15th November 2024. During this process, applicants are required to provide the following documents:
– A copy of their Teacher Registration Certificate or a printout from the TSC online portal as proof of teacher registration.
– A valid National Identity Card (ID) or Passport.
– Two (2) colored passport-size photographs.
– A copy of their National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) card.
– A copy of their Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Personal Identification Number (PIN).
– For persons with disabilities, a valid NCPWD card.
Upon successful verification, teachers will sign a one-year internship agreement and will be posted to various schools starting January 2025.
