The one-year TSC Internship Program aims to enhance teaching skills through mentorship and practical experience. This program is designed for unemployed, registered teachers, offering them hands-on exposure in various schools. Although the internship is unpaid, interns placed in JSS will receive a monthly stipend of Ksh 20,000, subject to deductions for NHIF, NSSF, and other applicable contributions.
Upon completing the program, interns will be awarded a certificate, improving their chances of permanent employment. In this year’s recruitment for 46,000 teachers on permanent and pensionable terms, TSC awarded additional scores to those with internship experience, making it easier for them to transition into full-time positions.
This TSC initiative provides an invaluable opportunity for teachers to gain practical experience, build skills, and increase their employment prospects within Kenya’s education system
