The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) will train new examiners for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) from August 18 to 24, 2024. This training is essential for those interested in becoming KCSE examiners.

Training Fee and Process
The training fee is Ksh 10,500. Only shortlisted applicants will be required to pay this fee. Notifications about payment will be sent via SMS and on the KNEC portal. The training venue will be announced later and will be a residential program.

Current Examiners and Applications
Teachers already listed as KCSE examiners in the KNEC database do not need to reapply. However, new applicants are invited to train in various subjects. The available subjects are:
– **English (Functional Skills)** – 101/1
– **English (Comprehension, Literary Appreciation, and Grammar)** – 101/2
– **English (Creative Composition and Essays)** – 101/3
– **Chemistry** – 233/2 and 233/3
– **Christian Religious Education** – 313/1 and 313/2
– **German** – 502/1 and 502/2
– **Music** – 511/2 and 511/3
Criteria for Application
To apply, you must meet the following criteria:
– Be a practicing teacher in the relevant subject.
– Be registered or employed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
– Hold at least a Diploma in Education.
– Have a minimum of three years teaching experience.
– Not be under any form of disciplinary action by the TSC.
– Be recommended by your head of institution.
– Be 50 years old or younger.
How to Apply
1. Access the KNEC examiners’ portal at [https://examinersapp.knec.ac.ke](https://examinersapp.knec.ac.ke).
2. Log in with your CP2 account credentials. If you have forgotten your password, use the “reset password” option.
3. If you don’t have a CP2 account, click on “create account” and follow the instructions.
4. Complete your personal profile and save it.
5. On the dashboard, click “apply for training” to view and select available vacancies.
Slots for the training are limited. Only qualified applicants who submit all required documents will be considered.
