The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has invited the Teachers Union to review the non-monetary aspects of the 2021-2025 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). This review is set for August 22, 2023, as per a circular sent to the Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET).

#### Meeting Details
The circular announces that the meeting will occur at the Kenya School of Government (KSG) in Lower Kabete, Nairobi, starting at 9:00 a.m. This review aims to address and assess the non-monetary provisions of the CBA.
#### Background on the 2021-2025 CBA
In July 2021, TSC, along with the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT), KUPPET, and the Kenya Union of Special Needs Education Teachers (KusNET), signed the CBA. This agreement was officially registered on August 27, 2021, by the Employment and Labour Relations Court, following Section 60 of the Labour Relations Act.
#### Key CBA Provisions
**Promotions**
Promotions for teachers will follow the Career Progression Guidelines. Teachers in ASAL and hard-to-staff areas holding administrative positions in an acting capacity will receive progressive promotions until their grades match their positions.
**Leave Entitlements**
– **Maternity Leave**: Teachers are entitled to 120 calendar days of full pay maternity leave, starting from the date of delivery.
– **Pre-Adoptive Leave**: Teachers can take 45 calendar days of full pay pre-adoptive leave, beginning from the adoption date.
– **Paternity Leave**: Teachers are granted 21 calendar days of full pay paternity leave once a year.
