The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) has officially opened its application portal and urges all eligible candidates to seize the opportunity to apply for funding. According to HELB, it is crucial to act promptly before the application deadline.
Requirements for Application
To ensure a smooth application process, HELB has specified several key requirements that applicants must meet. These include:
– Possession of a valid email address and telephone number.
– Provision of Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) index numbers, along with the respective examination years.
– Submission of a passport-size photo in jpeg, jpg, or png format.
Document Requirements
Applicants are also required to provide the following documents:
– A copy of their National Identification card or Maisha card, both sides in PDF format.
– Valid bank details or an MPESA number registered under the applicant’s name and ID number for fund disbursement.
– For applicants under 18 years old, a birth certificate in PDF format can serve as an alternative to the ID.
Students who received sponsorship in secondary school must submit a copy of their sponsorship letter in PDF format along with their application.
