Mandatory Qualifications and Experience:
For one to qualify for the position of Deputy Headteacher (Job Group C4), all teachers must adhere to sequential job group progression . This is with a minimum of three years of service in Job Group C3 (Senior Teacher I). One must be in possession of a valid teaching certificate and a satisfactory performance rating are also required.
Professional Development Completion:
For a successful completion of Teacher Professional Development (TPD) modules mandated by the TSC is compulsory for all applicants to this position.
Desired Skills and Qualities:
All candidates should be able to demonstrate effective leadership, supervision, and mentoring abilities, fostering a supportive learning environment. Alignment with the principles outlined in Chapter Six of the Kenyan Constitution, focusing on integrity and ethical conduct in all professions as it’s is crucial requirement.

Deputy Headteacher II (C4, T-Scale 9) serves as a primary school administrator, directly reporting to the Head Teacher. Responsibilities include curriculum development, policy implementation, and school program oversight. The salary range for this position in 2023 is between Ksh 45,287 and Ksh 51,632 per month.
