Primary school teachers, commonly referred to as P1 teachers, who have submitted their applications to the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) for consideration regarding deployment to junior secondary school, are required to prepare their documents for the upcoming verification exercise.
Opportunities for P1 Teachers:
TSC has declared a total of 6,000 teaching slots, inviting qualified P1 teachers to apply for deployment to junior school. Successful candidates will be posted to junior secondary schools starting from the second term.
Second Chance for Missed Opportunities:
Teachers who missed their chance during previous TSC deployments, both in the first and second rounds, stand a chance of securing slots in the upcoming deployment.
Fresh Applications Consideration:
TSC emphasizes that only those who made applications after the Commission allowed fresh applications will be considered for deployment.
Deployment Details:
P1 teachers deployed to junior schools will handle classes in both Grade Seven and Grade Eight.
Communication and Verification Process:
TSC will issue official communication regarding the process of document verification and posting letters for teachers through TSC Sub-County Directors upon receiving lists of successful applicants from the commission.
Required Documents for Verification:
P1 teachers are required to carry the following documents for verification:
– Original and copy of the degree or diploma certificate
– Original and copies of academic transcripts
– Original and copy of SNE qualification (for those with alternative needs)
– Original and copy of KCSE certificate (or equivalent)
– Copy of the current payslip
– Declaration letter endorsed by the Head of Institution confirming the teacher’s current service status and clean record
Qualifications for Deployment:
Qualifications for deployment include:
– Possession of a registration number
– Employment under permanent terms by the Teachers Service Commission as a primary school teacher
– Not being under interdiction or undergoing disciplinary processes
– Possession of a Diploma in Education with a minimum of C+ at KCSE (or equivalent)
