House Allowances:

Teachers stationed in Nairobi receive a house allowance of sh. 28,000 per month. This higher payment reflects the increased cost of living in the metropolitan area.

 

 

 

 

Cluster 2: Other Urban Centers

Cities like Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru, Nyeri, Eldoret, Thika, Kisii, Kitale, and Malindi fall under this cluster, where teachers receive a house allowance of up to sh. 22,000 per month. TSC provides this allowance to offset the higher living expenses in these strategic locations.

 

 

 

 

Cluster 3: Former Municipalities

This cluster covers former municipalities not included in Cluster 2. Here, teachers receive a house allowance of sh. 16,500 per month, considering the specific economic dynamics of these areas.

 

 

 

 

 

Cluster 4: All Other Areas

Teachers in areas not covered by the previous clusters receive a house allowance of sh. 14,055 per month. This allowance acknowledges the diverse living costs across different regions.

In addition to house allowances, C3 teachers are eligible for several other allowances:

 

1. Monthly Hardship Allowance

Teachers working in challenging environments, such as remote or hostile areas, qualify for a monthly hardship allowance of sh. 12,300. This payment compensates for the extra challenges they face.

 

 

 

 

2. Monthly Commuter Allowance

To alleviate the financial burden of daily travel, TSC provides a commuter allowance of sh. 6,000 per month to cover commuting expenses.

 

 

 

 

 

3. Yearly/Annual Leave Allowance

C3 teachers are entitled to an annual leave allowance of sh. 6,000, allowing them to rest and recharge during their time off.

 

 

 

 

 

4. Monthly Disability Guide Allowance
