Introduction:

The Teacher Service Commission (TSC) is gearing up for a significant training session focusing on ICT skills. This session targets educators, secretariat personnel, and eighth-grade students.

 

 

Government Initiative:

The government, as outlined in a TSC circular dated March 26, 2024, has introduced a self-sponsored short course curriculum on ICT, with a training fee of Sh. 2,500. This initiative aims to bolster digital skills among citizens, aligning with the “Kenya National Digital Master Plan 2022 to 2032.”

 

 

Curriculum Details:

The curriculum covers a spectrum of digital proficiency levels, ranging from Foundation to Advanced skills, with a special emphasis on public sector-specific skills. It’s a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Information Communications and the Digital Economy and the ICT Authority.

 

Registration and Participation:

TSC has invited teachers, secretarial staff, and eighth-grade students to enroll in this training program. The training comes with a self-sponsorship fee of Ksh. 2,500 per person for basic digital skills. Upon completion and assessment, participants will receive a certificate endorsed by the government.

Regional and county directors are instructed to ensure the dissemination of this circular to all teachers within their jurisdictions.
