Recently, the Ministry of Education (MoE) took a significant step forward by promoting 300 Quality Assurance and Standards Officers (QASOs). This showcasing its dedication to enhancing service delivery in education. This move, approved by the Public Service Commission (PSC), underscores the ministry’s commitment . This commitment is to recognizing and rewarding the contributions of QASOs.

 

 

Restructuring for Recognition and Alignment

At Jogoo House, an official disclosed that QASOs have been promoted across job categories, with those in category M advancing to category P, followed by transitions from category P to R, and category R to S. This restructuring aims to acknowledge the pivotal role of QASOs while aligning their job categories with their duties.

 

 

Addressing Concerns and Acknowledging Contributions

In response to concerns raised about QASOs being overlooked amid promotions of education directors, the recent announcement by the Ministry demonstrates its recognition of the indispensable role played by QASOs in maintaining quality assurance and standards in schools.

 

 

 

Empowering QASOs: Resource Allocation

Moreover, the Ministry’s commitment to motivating QASOs is evident through the allocation of resources for their programs. Funding ranging from KSh260,000 to KSh1.5 million is now designated for QASOs at sub-county, county, and regional levels, reflecting the ministry’s dedication to empowering QASOs for effective execution of their daily duties.
