Introduction:
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) is streamlining the process for over 100,000 primary and post-primary school teachers who underwent interviews last year for recent promotions.
First Batch of Letters
In the initial batch, 36,505 successful candidates have been identified, affirming their promotion status following interviews conducted in December 2023 and January 2024. TSC county offices are currently distributing these letters for collection.
Second Batch: Regret Letters
Teachers who participated in the interviews but were not promoted will receive the second set of letters, acknowledging their candidacy for future promotions. While disheartening, these letters serve as important records of the teacher’s career aspirations.
Document Submission Requirements
To formalize the promotion process, teachers receiving promotion letters must submit five essential documents outlined in Chapter 6. These documents facilitate the transition into their new roles.
Essential Documents Include:
1. Certificate of Good Conduct: Issued by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), this document validates the teacher’s suitability for the new position. Authenticity verification is crucial, albeit it requires a nominal fee of Ksh1,050.
2. CRB Clearance Certificate: Successful candidates need an official Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) Clearance Certificate, affirming their financial integrity. Obtaining this certification involves a fee of sh. 2,200.
Importance of Certification
These certifications strengthen the candidate’s eligibility for promotion by assessing their integrity and reliability.
Completion of Document Requirements
Teachers listed for promotion must diligently fulfill these document requirements to avoid delays in their postings and the commencement of their new roles.
Distribution of Regret Letters
Care must be taken during the distribution of regret letters to avoid inadvertently harming future opportunities for advancement through excessive publicity.
