Registration Period for 2024 Examinations
Scheduled between January 29 and March 29, 2024, the registration for the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA). And the Kenya Intermediate Level Education Assessment (KILEA), and the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations is crucial.
Challenges in Registration Data Accuracy
Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has faced challenges leading to inaccuracies in school registration data, as highlighted in the circular.
Importance of Candidate Registration
Recognizing the pivotal role of candidate registration in examination administration, KNEC emphasizes the need for accurate and timely data submission.
Responsibilities of Field Officers
Field officers are directed to oversee the accurate and timely uploading of registration data in their respective counties/sub-counties to ensure the smooth conduct of national examinations.
Oversight by TSC Officials
TSC Sub-County Directors of Education (SCDEs) and Quality Assurance and Standards Officers (QASOs) are tasked with supervising the registration process in their areas.
Key Responsibilities During Registration
1. Eligibility Verification: Principals and Headteachers must register only eligible candidates and prevent irregular transfers within sub-counties to safeguard government resources and examination security.
2. Data Accuracy: Principals and Headteachers are required to download and print Registration Nominal Rolls before the KNEC portal closure, ensuring candidates and their parents/guardians confirm the accuracy of uploaded details.
Adherence to Guidelines
Candidates must scrutinize the uploaded data before signing the Nominal Rolls, with a warning that no photograph amendments will be allowed for KCSE candidates post-portal closure.
