After much anticipation, the results of the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) promotion interviews have finally been unveiled . This results were released and posted on the TSC website this week. However, many teachers express dissatisfaction with the outcomes, hoping for a shift towards a merit-based reward system.

 

Age as a Decisive Factor:

The results indicate that age played a significant role in the promotions.It particularly favored those above forty-five (45) years. This has raised concerns among experts who view promoting personnel based on age as a backward policy that could negatively impact teachers’ morale.

 

Merit Over Age:

Critics argue for a shift towards recognizing teachers with a proven track record. They also  emphasize on performance in both academic and co-curricular activities, irrespective of age. They advocate for administrative positions to be reserved for teachers excelling in all aspects of their profession. Rather than solely determined by age.
