Introduction

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) is taking proactive steps to enhance teacher performance in schools. A team of TSC officers, including Quality Assurance and Standard Officers (QASO), will be conducting on-site visits to assess teachers’ work quality.

TSC’s focus extends to the professional development of headteachers through the Teacher Induction Mentorship and Coaching (TIMEC) program. This initiative aims to enhance teacher performance by providing structured support and guidance to teachers.

 

Embracing Preventive Measures

TIMEC serves as a preventive measure to manage teacher conduct and performance effectively. By instilling professional ethics and practices, the program aims to uplift teachers’ competencies and adherence to regulations set by the teacher service commission TSC.

 

Assessing Preparedness and Class Attendance

The TSC team will evaluate various aspects of teacher readiness, including the preparation of teaching materials, attendance management, and lesson delivery quality. Classroom observations will be also conducted to gauge teaching effectiveness of a teacher.
