Public School’s Full Capitation.Exciting News for Kenyan Public High Schools: More Money Coming!.
Introduction:
Great news for Kenyan public high schools! The government is boosting their funding, which means more support for students and teachers. This extra money, called capitation, will go up from Ksh 17,000 to Ksh 22,244 per student every year. It’s all thanks to Kenya’s growing economy.
Why More Money?
The Education CS, Ezekiel Machogu, explained why funding went down before. Kenya didn’t have enough money, leading to a big budget gap of Ksh 22 billion last year. Because of this, the Ministry of Education had to cut school funding by 32%.
Good Times Ahead
But now, things are looking up! Kenya’s economy is doing better, so the Ministry can give schools the money they need. This means schools can buy more supplies, train teachers better, and help students more. It’s a chance for students to get a better education.
Working Together for Change
This capitation increase is part of a bigger plan to improve education in Kenya. Machogu says both the Ministry of Education and the Teachers Service Commission are teaming up for this. They want to make sure Kenyan students get the best education possible. But don’t forget, Parliament still has to agree to these changes.

More than Just Money
This boost in funding means more than just numbers. It could make classrooms better, help teachers do their job even better, and give Kenyan students a brighter future. It’s a step towards making sure high school in Kenya sets students up for success, no matter where they go in the world.
