Introduction

In response to recent delays encountered on the E-Citizen platform, Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu has introduced an alternative USSD method. This is  to tackle challenges students are facing verifying payments for KUCCPS applications.

 

 Addressing Challenges: Ministry’s Proactive Measures

This strategic move is in line with the Ministry of Education’s decision to extend the application deadline. The deadline was moved to March 4, 2024. The extension aims to provide equal opportunities for all students seeking placements .

 

 Ministry’s Assurance and Collaborative Efforts

In a press statement issued recently, the CS assured the public that the Ministry, in partnership with relevant stakeholders, is actively resolving the issues. He emphasized the collaborative efforts, stating. He said , ” Ministry of Education and other government stakeholders are working together to address the challenges . It aims to  assist all applicants in applying for programs and institutions of their choice.”

 

Temporary Solution for Applicants

Applicants experiencing delays are advised to temporarily dial *222# to confirm their payments. Meanwhile, a technical team, comprising representatives from various agencies, is diligently working to expedite application transactions.

 

Application Progress and Encouragement

As of February 25, 2024, out of 199,695 candidates who scored C+ and above in the 2023 KCSE exams, 121,391 have submitted their applications. The Ministry aims for a projected 86% application rate, equivalent to 171,738 candidates. Machogu stressed the importance of encouraging students scoring mean grades between C and E to capitalize on the ongoing applications.

 

 Deadline Extension: Addressing Technical Glitches

The extension of the deadline is a crucial step in addressing technical glitches that have affected the application process. With the deadline fast approaching, applicants are urged to seize this opportunity and finalize their submissions to secure placements in their preferred institutions.

 

Previous Announcement by KUCCPS CEO

Previously, KUCCPS CEO Dr. Mercy Wahome had announced that the application deadline, initially set for February 26, 2024, had been extended until further notice. This extension ensures that all eligible students have ample time to apply.Streamlined KUCCPS Payment Verification.
