Education Sector Digitalization Directive. Combating digital fraud in education.
  Introduction:
Under the leadership of President William Ruto, Cabinet has met to address the urgent need for digitalization of the Education Department . The meeting decided that education should be digitized within 30 days. This is to reduce morale and ease the burden on parents. The guidance makes clear that government funding for schools must benefit students in a lawful, transparent and accountable way.
Prevention and Impact :
President Ruto also mentioned about the challenges affecting the progress of digitalisation. Citing instances where candidates were unable to sit for national examinations, despite the government paying registration fees. He said e-citizens’ refusal to pay fees is due to people managing balance bank accounts. He indicated that government services have balance payment fees.
Expanding digitalization efforts:
In addition to addressing challenges in the education sector, the Council of Ministers also emphasized the importance of expanding digitalization of technical and vocational schools and universities. The plan includes using digital services in the Finance Faculty to improve processes and increase efficiency.
Conferences and International Recognition:
Kenya has hosted three major conferences that have achieved international success. It is noteworthy that the 6th United Nations Environment Assembly and the African Data Protection Agencies Network meeting are scheduled in Nairobi. Kenya has also been granted the right to host the African Minerals and Geosciences Policy Institute Conference and the Global Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in collaboration with the International Telecommunication Union, demonstrating Kenya’s competitive advantage and international recognition.

Infrastructure Development and Policy:
Approvals As part of the city’s efforts to strengthen its infrastructure, Mobile has approved Phase 3 of the Nairobi Intelligent Transport System. The plan includes setting up smart checkpoints, 80 checkpoints at 125 intersections and 30 smart checkpoints within the city. In addition, the government reaffirmed its commitment to the fundamental process of fiscal reform by passing major policy documents such as the 2024 Budget Act and various bills regulating fiscal operation and budget allocation.
