The government has initiated the application process for courses available through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) online system. This platform enables prospective students to seek placement in various institutions including universities, TVET institutions, Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC), Teachers Training Colleges (TTCs), and the Open University of Kenya.
Step-by-Step Guide to Applying
1. Log in with KCSE Index Number: Access the student portal using your KCSE index number as the username.
2. Initial Password Setup: Enter the KCSE year and utilize either your Birth Certificate No. or KCPE Index No. (as used during KCSE Exam Registration) as your initial password.
3. Select Programs of Interest: Choose desired programs and transfer them to the Course Basket to streamline your selection process.
4. Enter Program Codes: Utilize the Application/Revision tab to input program codes.
5. Ensure Subject Requirements: Verify that selected courses meet the minimum subject requirements, as selection criteria are based on overall performance and available capacity.
6. Finalize Course Selection: After deciding on preferred courses, enter the program codes and either save them for later application or add them to your course basket.
7. Access Saved Courses: Saved courses can be retrieved by selecting the “Course Basket” menu item or the designated icon.
8. Explore Courses by Institution: Utilize the Institutions tab to search for courses offered by different institutions, bearing in mind that selection depends on overall performance and available capacity.
9. Submit Application and Payment: After confirming program codes, submit the application and follow the payment instructions for the placement processing fee.
10. Payment Process: The placement processing fee should be settled after selecting courses while awaiting approval.
