2024 Placement Portal Opens.Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service KUCCPS Portal Opens for Applications.

Introduction:

After a prolonged wait, the Kenyan government has initiated the opening of the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS). The announcement came through a notice issued by KUCCPS on Thursday. It  informed applicants to utilize the student portal student.kuccps.net for their submissions.

 

Application Process

“The long-awaited moment is here! The KUCCPS_Official portal is now active! It’s therefore your opportunity to apply for your desired course at your preferred Kenyan institution. Stay tuned for further updates,” the notice stated.

 

Eligibility and Targeted Candidates

The application process extends to prospective students aspiring to join various educational institutions, including Universities, Tvet institutions, Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC), Teachers Training Colleges (TTC), and Open University of Kenya (OUK). Targeted candidates encompass the Kenya Certificate Of Secondary Education KCSE class of 2023 and Form 4 graduates from the years 2000 to 2022.

Examination Statistics and Results

A total of 903,260 candidates participated in the examination, which commenced on October 23, 2023, and concluded in November 2023. Ministry data reveals that out of the 2023 KCSE candidates, comprising 899,453 individuals, 450,554 were male, while 448,899 were female. The release of the examination outcomes took place on January 8, 2024, in Moi Girls High School Eldoret.

Performance Analysis

Upon analysis, it was observed that despite subcounty secondary schools hosting 66 percent of the examination centers in 2023, they yielded only seven students with grade A across the nation. In contrast, national schools, representing less than one percent of KCSE exam centers, produced 899 students with grade A. Extra-county schools accounted for 172 students with grade A, while county schools had five students achieving grade A.
