US To Fund Kenya’s Education Science . Kenya-USA Global Launchpad Initiative: Enhancing STEAM Education and Entrepreneurship.
   Introduction:
The United States government has allocated Sh15 million to enhance Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) education in Kenya. This investment aims to increase economic opportunities for Kenyan students through the Kenya-USA Global Launchpad Initiative (KUGLI). Spearheaded by Kenyan scholar Dr Churchill Saoke, the program focuses on empowering 131 students from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) . It will enable them to become entrepreneurs and innovators, capable of addressing emerging challenges across various sectors.
Empowering Kenyan Students:
Dr Saoke, the founder of KUGLI in Kenya, believes the initiative is a strategic response to unemployment challenges and skill gaps in colleges and universities. The program encourages collaboration between Kenyan students and their counterparts from Syracuse University and the Blackstone Launchpad in the United States. Through joint efforts, the students will develop micro-international ventures.

Strengthening Academic Relations:
The Kenya-USA Global Launchpad Initiative aims to solidify academic and educational ties between Kenyan and American universities. It provides a dynamic platform for collaborative efforts to address shared challenges faced by both Kenya and the United States.
Experiential Training and Joint Projects:
Participating students, primarily from science, technology, engineering, and arts fields, will undergo experiential training on entrepreneurship. Subsequently, a joint global team will be formed to execute projects targeting specific societal challenges. The program, spanning from January to November, includes physical experiential training in various Kenyan universities and joint sessions with Syracuse University students.
Mentorship and Innovation Conference:
The Blackstone Launchpad will play a pivotal role in providing mentorship and coaching throughout the initiative. The program will culminate in an innovation conference scheduled for June, showcasing the collaborative efforts and solutions developed by the students.
Enhanced People-to-People Relations:
Beyond academic collaborations, the Kenya-USA Global Launchpad Initiative aims to strengthen people-to-people relations. It seeks to create a shared educational experience between Kenyan and American participants, fostering mutual understanding and knowledge exchange.
