Scoring Areas For TSC Interviews . TSC Teacher Promotion Criteria Unveiled
    Introduction:
The Teaching Service Commission (TSC) has initiated the interview scheduling process, signaling the commencement of the promotion assessment. In this regard, the Commission has outlined specific scoring areas for teachers, emphasizing a thorough evaluation of their performance over the last three years.
 Scoring Areas for Teacher Performance:
The Teacher Service Commission TSC has identified key scoring areas crucial for assessing teachers’ performance. These areas include the individual teachers’ posted mean score, categorized as follows:
– 11 and above: 20 marks
– 10 – 10.9: 18 marks
– 9 – 9.9: 16 marks
– 8 – 8.9: 14 marks
– 7 – 7.9: 12 marks
– 6 – 6.9: 10 marks
– 5 – 5.9: 8 marks
– 4 – 4.9: 6 marks
– 3 – 3.9: 4 marks
– 2 – 2.9: 2 marks
– 1 – 1.9: 1 mark
Teachers will also be evaluated based on the Teacher Improvement Index, with corresponding marks assigned according to the following scale:
– 2 and above: 20 marks
– 1.70 – 1.89: 18 marks
– 1.50 – 1.69: 16 marks
– 1.30 – 1.49: 14 marks
– 1.10 – 1.29: 12 marks
– 0.90 – 1.09: 10 marks
– 0.70 – 0.89: 8 marks
– 0.50 – 0.69: 6 marks
– 0.30 – 0.49: 4 marks
– 0.10 – 0.29: 2 marks
– 0.09 and below: 1 mark
  Validation Process:
It’s imperative to note that the Teacher Service Commission -analyzed results must undergo validation by the Head of Institutions before presentation to the assessment panel for further vetting process.

Performance in Co-curricular Activities:
For these teachers who involved themselves in co-curricular activities within the last 5 years, such as serving as an Official, Coach, or Referee, will be graded based on the following scale:
– School level: 1 mark
– Sub-County level: 2 marks
– County level: 3 marks
– Regional level: 4 marks
– National level: 5 marks
General Knowledge and Current Affairs Assessment:
Under the Teacher Service Commission Department, 5 marks will be allocated for teachers’ general knowledge and current affairs. Additionally, Teacher Service Commission will assess behavioral attributes and communication skills. This assessment will earn someone some additional marks from the panel.
