Sironga Girls Welcomes New Principal.The Sironga girls enthusiastically welcomed their new principal Mrs Jane Nyanumba. The event took place on Monday afternoon. The recently appointed Chief Principal of Sironga Girls  High School. Mrs Jane Nyanumba’s arrival was marked by a lively reception featuring song and dance from the students.

In contrast, Mrs Eva Odhiambo, previously the principal at Sironga Girls was assigned to Kisumu Girls High School. Kisumu Girls High School is found in Kisumu county . The transfer was done by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), which recently has made a huge shake up. Mrs Odhiambo has been replaced by Mrs Jane  Nyanumba.

Mrs Eva Odhiambo, upon assuming her new role, was moved to tears by the warm welcome she received from her new school students and a new environment.

Meanwhile, Mrs Margaret Mechumo is transitioning to become the new principal of Bungoma’s Chwele Girls High School, succeeding Ms. Eve Odhiambo at Kisumu Girls.

As the new principal of Sironga Girls, Jane Nyanumba is expected to spearhead the school’s ongoing development . She has served as a principal at Tombe Girls High school since 2015.

Under her leadership, the 2023 KCSE mean score witnessed a decline to 7.1, with 167 out of 248 registered applicants achieving a university entrance grade. This marked a decrease from the 9.2 mean score obtained in the 2022 Kenya Certificate Of Secondary exams KSCE.

In contrast to her prior station’s results, where she achieved a mean score of 7.2 on the same exam last year, her current station is showing some signs of improvement.

Mrs. Jane Nyanumba faces serious challenges in maintaining high standards in the classroom work. More particularly as 461 students attained University Entry Grades that accepted them to secure entry into universities and seven girls earned mean grades of ‘A’ plain in last year’s Kenya Certificate Of Secondary Education KCSE.
