Regardless of service terms, a TSC teacher is eligible for a maximum of thirty days of annual leave with full pay each calendar year.

Conditions for Annual Leave
Annual leave must only be taken during school holidays and cannot be carried over to the next year. Online submission during school holidays, following procedures in the Twenty Seventh Schedule of the TSC Code of Regulations for teachers, is mandatory.

Online Application and Approval Process Automation
Since December 1, 2021, the Commission automated the leave application and approval process, transitioning it online. All teachers on the TSC payroll, including interns, must now apply for leave through the online platform.
Categories of Leaves on the Platform
The online platform includes various leave categories such as Sick Leave, Annual Leave, Compassionate Leave, Paternity Leave, Maternity Leave, Study Leave, Special Leave, Adoption Leave, and Spouse of Diplomat Leave.
TSC Leave Allowance Rates According to Job Groups
The TSC Leave Allowance rates, outlined in Circular 14/2021 for the period 2021–2025, are based on job groups. The Annual Leave Allowance rates for different job groups are as follows:
1. Grade B5: Sh4,000
2. Grade C1: Sh4,000
3. Grade C2: Sh6,000
4. Grade C3: Sh6,000
5. Grade C4: Sh6,000
6. Grade C5: Sh6,000
7. Grade D1: Sh10,000
8. Grade D2: Sh10,000
9. Grade D3: Sh10,000
10. Grade D4: Sh10,000
11. Grade D5: Sh10,000
